Nollywood Yoruba actor and filmmaker, Afeez Owo, has disclosed how he had an encounter with the late actress, Aisha Abimbola also known as Omoge Campus before her death, where she told him that she was dieting.
The actor in an interview with GoldmyneTV, said the last time he saw the late actress, she was looking slim and when he enquired why she was looking slim, she told him that she was dieting.
According to him, it was later that he got to hear that she had cancer, adding that the actress found it difficult to share her plight with the public.
“The last time I saw her she told me she was dieting when I asked why she was looking slim. It was later I heard she had cancer. She found it difficult to share her plights with the public. She knew that if she had told the public, they would have donated money for her and she did not want that.
“But I don’t think it is bad if you are in trouble and you let the public know. Even when you have money, you still need to share things with people.
“At a time, we were working together for Korede Productions. She was a nice lady, though no one is perfect. I feel pained when I heard about her. I will miss her person because she was very calm. If death looks personalities, she should not die,” he stated.
Afeez Owo disclosed further that he had known Aisha Abimbola for close to 12 years, stating that they were very close before her death.
Aisha died on Tuesday, May 15th, 2018 in Canada and was also buried in Canada according to Islamic rites.
She featured in indigenous and non-indigenous productions such as “No Pain, No Gain,” “Awerijaye,” “So Wrong So Right,” “Omoge Campus,” “Kamson and Neighbours” among others.
She made her debut as a producer with the 2016 movie “T’omi T’eje,” which she premiered in Atlanta, with a music performance by King Rokan. But it was Omoge Campus that brought her into prominence.
