Nollywood Actress Uche Jombo, has abused some online movie sites for pirating and illegally uploading Nollywood movies without going through due process.
The actress on Tuesday morning made a post of the piracy menace Nollywood filmmakers are facing.
According to angry Uche Jombo, uploading Nollywood movies illegally is not just a sin against the filmmakers but sin against God.
Narrating her experience with a movie sites that uploaded one of her movies illegally, the obvious angry actress fumed and cursed the perpetrators saying the thunder that will fire them is getting ready.
She reiterated that the Nigerian Movie Industry, Nollywood, is taxed heavily already and wondered why people will not let others eat the fruit of their sweat.
She wrote: “Let’s discuss nollywood illegal uploads please which is not just a sin against the film makers but sin against God
“Are you kidding me? Do you know what WE go through?
“Had an interesting chat with some people who uploaded my film DAMAGE illegally on their site, the sense of entitlement to that ‘you never make money reach feeling 😏 to calling me an imposter on their little WhatsApp group…got me thinking of how we can ALL do better this 2019.
“Because the thunder that will fire you if you are in this digital age illegal upload of someone creative work and sweat is doing press up
“This industry is taxed heavily already🤦🏾♀️
God any person or group that will not let us reap the benefits of our Labour
Holy ghostttttttt fireeeeeeeeeee!,” Uche Jombo wrote.
Meanwhile, in the comment section, fans advised her to sue such people involved in the illegal upload.
A Twitter user with the name, Ms.vivianne said:
“You can sue the person for copyright infringement. Copyright is the exclusive right of the owner of a movie or other intellectual property to republish and/or share their works with others and where another person republished that work without the express permission of the owner, it amounts to copyright infringement.”
