Six exciting movies coming out soon in Nigerian Cinemas nationwide this August. Yes, it’s the popcorn time again with new nollywood cinema movies about to drop.
Here are some of the exciting movies you have been waiting for. So we have been seeing some trailers of some nollywood cinema movies with their release dates and we have been patiently waiting and counting down dates. Well, here we are. Bellow is six exciting movies coming this August in Nigerian Cinemas.
1. Moms at War
‘Moms at War’ is a star studded dramedy written by Naz Onuzo and directed by Omoni Oboli. The film starring; Funke Akindele, Omoni Oboli, Eucharia Anumobi and Yul Edochie will be released in cinemas on August 17, 2018.
it is a partnership of Inkblot, Dioni Visions and Film One.
‘Moms at War’ tells the story of Olaide and Ebubechukwu, two mothers who would do anything for their children. Omoni Oboli stars as Ebubechukwu, a posh career woman who was born with a silver spoon and expects her only daughter to follow in her footsteps. Funke Akindele stars as Olaide, a self-made woman who built herself up from nothing to raise her son and give him the life she did not have.
With their children competing for a place in a prestigious scholars program, everything starts to derail as the mothers go head to head to ensure that their own child wins the competition.
- The Washerman
The official trailer for this movie was released on July 1, 2018 and since then; people have been waiting patiently to see it on it’s release date which is August 31st.
It is directed by Charles Uwagbai, the director of “Brother Jekwu”, “Esohe” and “The Ghost and the Tout”
The movie stars Bryan Okwara, Mofe Duncan, Judith Audu, Chris Okagbue, Soundsultan and Jaywon Juwonlo.
It is a romantic comedy that tells the story of a vlogger, KC, who is desperately in search of love. After a few frustrating disappointments, she says a prayer, but when the answer comes, it’s not quite what she expects.”
- Seven and Half Dates
This one is a star-studded romantic film, starring, Akin Lewis, Jim Iyke, Fathia Williams, Sola Sobowale, Toyin Aimakhu, Bayray Mcnwizu, Frank Donga, Ali Nuhu and Mercy Johnson, are all in this one.
Produced by Bigsam Media Production, Seven and Half Dates would be released in Nigerian cinemas on August 3.
The romantic movie is written by Joy Isi Bewaji and directed by Biodun Stephens. It follows the life of a young hard working lady, Bisola, who is engrossed in her passion for her career and finds herself in a seemingly unending search for love.
Her father, Mr. Gomez, comes to the rescue by ‘setting Bisola up’ for 10 different dates to which he hopes one of them yields a positive result.
Klippers is directed by a US based Nigerian filmmaker and actor, Ofu Obekpa and it would be released in Nigerian Cinemas on August 10.
The movie unveils an assassin sent by his psychotic employer to kill his ex-wife. In his quest to accomplish the task, he becomes familiar with his target and this makes his mission rather difficult. His employer is Impatient and senses that all is not well. In comes another hit man with an intimidating profile known for zero tolerance to mediocrity in the dark business and a scary success record of getting the job done. A series of events triggers a face off and the race to stay alive begins.
- From Lagos with Love
This movie stars Sharon Ooja, Nonso Bassey, Jon Ogah, Etim Effiong, Damilola Adegbite, Shaffy Bello, and others.
From Lagos with Love is directed by Tola Odunsi and it will be in Nigerian Cinema from August 31st, 2018.
There is something to look out in this one. Shaffy Bello’s character asks her son in the official trailer. “You want to spend the rest of your life with a woman that has slept with different men all her life until she found you?”
- Hello, Rain
Hello, Rain is a short film and Nigerian adaptation of Nnedi Okorafor’s science and witchcraft Novel themed, “Hello, Moto.”
Hello, Rain is directed by C.J. “Fiery” Obasi from the short story by Nnedi Okorafor. It stars Keira Hewatch as Rain, Tunde Aladese as Philo and Ogee Nelson as Coco.
